SmallRig S70: Two-Person 2.4 GHz Wireless Mic Kit at $89.99
SmallRig, a company best known for camera rigs and mounting accessories, has announced the S70, a wireless microphone system for two people. It is designed to work with smartphones, tablets and cameras, and it uses 2.4 GHz digital transmission. Recording runs at 48kHz/24-bit through an ATS3031 chip.
Transmitters and sound settings
Each clip-on transmitter weighs 8.6 g, measures 1.1 by 0.3 inches and has an 8.8mm microphone head with a built-in omnidirectional capsule. The bodies carry no visible logo, and each has a mute switch. SmallRig quotes a range of up to 300 m (984 feet) in ideal conditions, a maximum SPL of 120 dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB. An automatic limiter guards against clipping.
The system offers nine EQ presets that SmallRig says were calibrated with four-time Grammy winner Luca Bignardi: General, Rich, Bright, Male, Female, Singing, Guitar, Violin and Ambient. Other controls include:
- three noise reduction levels;
- five gain steps on cameras and three on mobile devices;
- Mono, Stereo and Safety Track recording modes;
- a companion app for Android and iOS.
Receivers, battery and pricing
The full S 70-A kit comes with three receivers: one with a USB-C plug for Android phones and recent iPads, one with a Lightning plug for iPhones, and a camera unit that sits in the shoe and outputs over 3.5mm TRS. Both phone receivers pass charging through to the connected device, and the system is USB Class Compliant. Each transmitter runs up to 8 hours, and the charging case brings total runtime past 40 hours. Windscreens, a USB-C cable, a 3.5mm TRS cable and a carry bag are included, along with a two-year limited warranty.
The S 70-A kit costs $89.99, and a USB-C-only S70-C2 version costs $69.99. Both come in black or white. SmallRig opened preorders in early January 2026, with U.S. shipping set for January 12 and other regions for January 15.
