PlayStation Pulse headset opens for pre-order at $99.99
Pre-orders for the PlayStation Pulse wireless headset opened on October 29. The headset costs $99.99 and goes on sale on November 19, according to Sony.
The recommended price is £89.99 in the UK, €99.99 in euros and ¥15,980 in Japan. Sony sells it in two colors, White and Midnight Black. The white version has a white headband, while the black one has a black headband.
Microphones and connections
The headset has integrated microphones for in-game chat and calls. Sony says they use "AI-enhanced noise rejection" to filter out background noise.
Connection runs through PlayStation Link, which Sony describes as lossless, ultra-low latency audio. It works with PS5 consoles, the PlayStation Portal remote player, PC and Mac. The headset can also connect to supported Bluetooth devices at the same time, so a player can switch between a PS5 and a phone. The earcups rotate so the headset lies flat in a bag.
Sound
The Pulse uses planar magnetic drivers. Sony made them larger than the drivers in the Pulse Elite, the company's 2024 headset, to give fuller and deeper bass. The headset supports Tempest 3D audio.
Where and when
Pre-orders in the US started at 7:00 a.m. PT through direct.playstation.com. In the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, they opened at 10:00 a.m. local time through playstation.com. Participating retailers take orders as well.
On November 19 the headset launches in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK and a long list of European countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Nordic states. Sony will announce the date for other countries later.
The higher-end Pulse Edge was announced together with the Pulse. It has planar drivers with double the magnet volume, active noise cancellation, a carrying case and a detachable boom mic. A hidden mic works when the boom is removed. Sony plans to launch it in early 2027 and has not given a price or exact date.
