Nomono adds Audio/Video Sync to Studio Cloud at SXSW
Nomono, a Norwegian company that makes recording hardware and cloud software for spoken audio, has announced Audio/Video Sync. The feature was presented at SXSW in Austin and runs inside Nomono Studio Cloud. It is available now to all Studio Cloud users.
How the workflow runs
Nomono describes four steps:
- dialogue is recorded with Nomono microphones;
- the audio is synced to a video file shot on a phone or a desktop;
- Studio Cloud applies AI-assisted enhancement;
- the finished video is exported with the processed sound.
The aim is to keep capture, enhancement, collaboration and export in one cloud service. According to Nomono, this removes the need for separate editing tools, manual syncing or reshoots to fix poor audio. The press release was issued in Austin on March 23, 2026.
Why Nomono built it
The company points to the shift toward video in podcasting. It cites the Sounds Profitable report The Creators 2025, according to which 71% of active podcast creators now make video and 29% stay audio-only. Nomono says that echo, background noise, uneven levels and other interference in sound remain the most common reason video content fails, especially for creators who work mainly on phones.
The service is designed for places outside a controlled studio: conference floors, travel, remote interviews and field shoots. Nomono's idea is to record cleaner dialogue at the source and then process it in the cloud, which it says reduces cleanup time and reshoots.
CEO Kristine Snyder described the creator stack as converging into one continuous workflow from capture to distribution, built on a capture-first approach, and summed up the company's approach in one line: "It's no longer audio versus video."
