Moto Buds 2 Ultra bring Bose tuning and ANC at €199
Motorola is borrowing Bose's audio know-how for its newest earbuds. The Moto Buds 2 Ultra carry Bose SoundDesign tuning and Bose QuietControl active noise cancellation, and they sell for €199 (about $223).
What Bose handles inside the buds
The two Bose pieces split the work. SoundDesign is the tuning of how the earbuds sound. QuietControl is the noise cancelling that mutes the world around you.
Under that sit 11mm drivers. A Transparency Mode lets ambient sound in alongside your audio, which Motorola presents as a safety feature.
Spatial audio, translation and battery
Dolby Atmos and Dolby Head Tracking are on board for a more immersive sound. Head tracking is the part that keeps the soundstage anchored as you turn your head.
There is also AI-powered live translation, but only with compatible Motorola phones.
Battery is rated at up to eight hours of continuous playback on one charge. With the charging case, the total reaches up to 37 hours. The buds carry an IP57 rating.
A watch comes along for the ride
Motorola launched the buds together with the Moto Watch 2 Fit, a fitness tracker with Polar-powered insights. These products follow the premium Motorola Signature 27 phone and are meant to pair with it.
The watch has a 1.85-inch OLED screen, a battery rated at up to 12 days and prices starting at €119 (about $133). It can take calls. An "Ask Anything" AI workout feature, answering a "Hey Qira" request, is still in the works and will not be there at launch.
Where and when
Both products are due in the coming weeks in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America and Asia-Pacific. In some markets the earbuds will be sold as the Moto Buds Ultra 27, and the watch as the Moto Watch Fit 27.
