Meta's creator assistant gets trend alerts and comment replies

Meta’s AI creator assistant can now generate replies to viewers’ comments in the creator’s voice. It is one of several changes the company announced for the chatbot, which also gains trend alerts, help with planning content and a place on the web.

Replies written in the creator's voice

Under a post, the assistant can single out the viewer questions that look most relevant. It then generates replies in the creator’s voice, and the stated aim is to streamline the work of responding.

From the app to the Creator Dashboard

The assistant is now reachable on the web, inside Meta’s Creator Dashboard. That gives Meta’s AI tools room to fit into different workflow setups. The company also said it is looking at extending the assistant to further apps and tools used for building content and planning it.

Trend alerts and content help

The assistant arrived in June as a source of AI guidance for Facebook and Instagram, drawing on an automated review of what succeeds on each platform. The new alerts make it act first: it can notify creators about trends in their niche and about possible opportunities.

Content guidance gets deeper too. Meta gives two examples. A creator can hand over an idea and receive a storyboard and shot list. A draft can also be uploaded before posting to get specific feedback.

“It puts together a starting point, and you decide what happens next.” — Meta

Our view

Comment replies are the feature with the most at stake for audiences, because viewers may not know a machine wrote the answer. It is unclear whether replies are labelled, or whether a creator must approve each one before it goes out. Those two details would decide how far creators can lean on the feature without losing their own tone.
