DJI Mic Mini 2 Adds Voice Presets and OsmoAudio Direct Link
DJI has launched the Mic Mini 2, the next generation of its compact omnidirectional wireless microphone. The transmitter weighs about 11 g without its clip or magnet and records 24-bit/48kHz audio. The whole kit, including transmitters, receiver and accessories, is stored in an updated charging case, and a separate mobile case version holds one transmitter with a phone receiver.
Sound controls
Three voice tone presets are built in: Regular, Rich and Bright. Noise cancellation works at two levels, one for quieter rooms and one for louder outdoor settings. As on the previous model, the system has automatic limiting, five gain steps and dual-track recording through the DJI Mimo app. The magnetic clip can be rotated to keep the capsule aimed at the speaker.
Two magnetic front covers, in Obsidian Black and Glaze White, come in the box. DJI also sells a Time Series set of covers designed by illustrator Victo Ngai, whose four designs, Dawn, Surge, Blaze and Glimmer, represent stages of life.
Compatibility, range and battery
- The Mic Mini Receiver works with both the original Mic Mini and the Mic Mini 2; the Mic Series Mobile Receiver also supports the Mic 3.
- Through DJI OsmoAudio, up to two transmitters connect directly to the Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, Osmo Action 6 and other devices without a receiver.
- In the two-transmitter kit with the Mic Mini Receiver the link covers up to 400 m, and 300 m with the mobile receiver kit.
- The transmitter runs up to 11.5 hours and the receiver 10.5 hours; the charging case extends use to 48 hours.
- Five minutes of charging gives about an hour of use, and the transmitter sleeps when it loses the receiver signal.
The Mic Mini 2 can be ordered from DJI's website, its official stores and authorized retailers. DJI also said it will soon release the Mic Mini 2S, which adds internal recording and support for four transmitters on one receiver.
