Audio-Technica releases a Stream Deck plug-in for 20 Series mics

Audio-Technica has released a control application for its 20 Series USB microphones. It runs as a plug-in for Elgato's Stream Deck and is available now through the Elgato Marketplace. The company aims it at streamers, content creators and audio professionals.

Supported microphones

The plug-in works with three models:

  • AT2020USB-X;
  • AT2020USB-XP;
  • AT2040USB, a microphone designed for podcasts.

The microphones need firmware version v1100 or later. The update is installed with UDUU, Audio-Technica's USB Device Update Utility, version 1.1.1 or newer, which is downloaded from the Audio-Technica website. The company advises closing the Stream Deck application before updating the firmware to avoid errors.

Controls for all three models

Functions are assigned to Stream Deck keys, dials or foot pedals by drag and drop. Layouts can be set up to suit each user's workflow for streaming, recording, gaming, podcasting or other content production. On every supported microphone, users can:

  • mute and unmute the microphone;
  • set the input level with a Virtual Fader, either to a fixed value or up and down in steps from keys or rotary dials.

Extra controls on the AT2020USB-XP

The AT2020USB-XP has onboard processing, and the plug-in gives direct access to it. Automatic Gain Control can be switched on or off. AGC keeps the output level steady when the speaker or singer gets louder or quieter. The Noise Reduction control offers three levels of ambient noise suppression and can also be turned off, depending on the room.
