Zoom LiveTrak L12next records 14 tracks in 32-bit float

Zoom has announced the LiveTrak L12next, a new model in its LiveTrak series of digital mixers that record to SD cards and can control a DAW. Zoom aims the series at a wide range of users, from musicians to content creators, and builds it around recording, monitoring, onboard effects and a choice of connections. Pre-orders for the L12next have opened, with shipping planned for January 2026 and a price of about $633.

Recording and interface

The L12next is a 12-channel mixer. It records 14 tracks to an SD card in 32-bit float at 96 kHz. Connected to a computer over USB, it works as a 14x4 audio interface. Standard transport controls are available when recording, along with an Overdub mode for layering takes and automatic punch in and out for re-recording parts of a take.

Preamps and processing

Compared with other LiveTrak models, the L12next has eight upgraded microphone preamps. Each offers up to 70 dB of gain, and the mixer also has Hi-Z inputs for guitars.

Every channel has its own processing:

  • a compressor;
  • EQ;
  • six sends to 16 onboard digital effects, which come back through their own return channel.

A compressor on the master bus works on the whole mix and is meant to glue it together.

Monitoring and scenes

The mixer has five headphone outputs, each controlled separately. Each can carry its own mix, sent to headphones, in-ear monitors or powered monitor speakers. Ten scene memories store settings for different jobs and recall them later.

The LiveTrak L12next is offered through retailers such as Thomann, with deliveries due in January 2026.
