Neumann KK 104 A and KK 105 A Capsule Heads for Sennheiser Handhelds
Neumann announced two new condenser capsule heads for wireless handheld transmitters on 21 September 2026 in Berlin. The KK 104 A and KK 105 A follow the KK 204 and KK 205 and are designed for Sennheiser transmitters: Spectera, EW-D, EW-DX, Digital 6000 and Digital 9000.
The aim, according to Neumann, is to bring the sound of its KMS stage microphones to wireless use. Both heads are true condenser designs. The company lists transparency, fast transient response, vocal detail and resistance to feedback among their goals.
Two pickup patterns
- KK 104 A – cardioid, with a slightly more open pickup intended for a natural and spacious sound.
- KK 105 A – supercardioid, focusing more tightly on the singer and rejecting more sound from the sides for greater isolation.
Shared features
Both models have pop protection and handling-noise rejection. A fixed low-cut filter keeps the proximity effect under control when the singer works close to the microphone. The grille is made of hardened steel and has a built-in pop screen, which protects the capsule from moisture and reduces plosives and sibilance.
Launch
The capsule heads were shown at IBC 2026 together with Sennheiser's Spectera SKM handheld transmitter. Neumann said they were expected to reach stores by the end of September. Prices were not part of the announcement.
Neumann describes the new A-Series heads as combining its condenser technology with a refreshed design and less handling noise, and as ready for the newest wireless systems of its parent company, Sennheiser.
