AnalogX moves analog-style mixing emulations onto the graphics card

AnalogX has officially launched Genesis, a mixing plug-in that hands the heavy processing of analog-hardware emulations to the graphics card. It uses GPU Audio Soundcore technology and loads any AnalogX neural expansion pack, as well as NAM A2 models, without taxing the CPU.

The company says the processor stays free for synths, reverbs and other instruments while the graphics card handles the analog mix flow. Users can switch between CPU and GPU with one click: track in low-latency mode on the CPU, then mix on the GPU.

What is inside

Genesis has four independent profile slots, so emulations can be stacked in series. A library of more than 150 expansions covers modeled compressors, mixing desks, EQs and tape machines, and these are GPU-optimized for Genesis Pro.

The Pro license includes nine expansion packs: Vintage Bluey Compressor Emulations, Fifty 88 Console, Focus 110 Preamp, Wizard Saturation Parts 1-2 and 3, DIYME 15ips Tape, Zulu 2 Tape, P-Tech Mixbus EQ and Chains, Mag 2 Compressor and British G-Channel Chain.

Genesis Pro uses what AnalogX calls HQ Neural Technology for true stereo emulation loading, with CPU and GPU support for NAM A2 profiles. The interface adds Sweet Spot metering, neural oversampling, CAL input calibration, gain reduction metering and dual-action volume matching.

The company claims sessions with a hundred or more instances can run without CPU strain, and that bounces are much faster.

Requirements and pricing

On Mac, GPU mode needs Apple Silicon (M1 to M5, including Pro, Max and Ultra), macOS 13.0 or later and at least 16 GB of RAM, with 32 GB recommended. The release says Apple Silicon users get large gains in performance and stability.

On Windows, the supported cards are NVIDIA RTX 2000 to 5000 series and AMD RX 7000 and 9000 series. The NVIDIA RTX 3060 and AMD RX 6700 XT, both with 12 GB of VRAM, are named as examples.

The plug-in comes in VST3, AU and AAX formats. Genesis Core costs £39.99 and Genesis Pro £89.99. The upgrade from Core to Pro is £50, and a free 14-day trial is available. The code GENESIS30 takes 30% off Genesis and all expansion packs for a limited time.
