AKG C-Series: C104, C114 and C151 condensers from £120
Shortly before NAMM 2026, AKG announced a new family of capacitor microphones called the C-Series. It consists of three models, the C104, C114 and C151, and is aimed at musicians, podcasters, YouTubers and streamers.
Three models
- C104 is a large-diaphragm microphone derived from AKG's C414, with a fixed cardioid pattern.
- C114 is also a large-diaphragm model based on the C414, but offers three patterns: cardioid, figure-8 and omni.
- C151 is a small-diaphragm microphone with a cardioid pattern.
All three use a transformerless FET circuit. AKG says this gives them a very low noise floor and a wide dynamic range, and that their broad frequency response suits vocals, speech, instruments and other sources. The company also stresses quick setup: the microphones are designed to be plugged in and used without lengthy adjustment.
Design and materials
The bodies of all three microphones are made from 100% recycled PIR metal. AKG states that the accessories were designed with sustainability as a priority and that the packaging is fully recyclable. The visual design refers back to earlier AKG products.
Philip Feinman, product manager for recording and broadcast at Harman Professional Solutions, said the goal was a microphone that creators would use every day because it simplifies the recording process.
Price and availability
The C-Series is available now. The C104 costs £120, the C114 £210 and the C151 £120.
Chris Hansen, director of recording and broadcast at Harman Professional Solutions, pointed to AKG's long history of design work on microphones, headphones and other audio products as the basis for the new range.
