Saramonic Air SE: 5 g clip-on mic doubles as a handheld

Saramonic has added the Air SE to its wireless microphone range as a follow-up to the Saramonic Air. The new model targets creators starting out on a budget and was announced in New York on March 25, 2026. Sales started on March 10 via authorized Saramonic dealers and Saramonic's own web store; the global version costs between $50 and $70.

One transmitter, two forms

The transmitter weighs 5 grams and is designed to be worn clipped to clothing. It can also be attached magnetically to the charging bar, which turns the combination into a handheld microphone without extra accessories. The modular bar holds and charges two transmitters and the receiver at once. With the bar, total battery life reaches up to 28 hours. Saramonic lists interviews, vlogging and mobile shooting as typical uses.

In-house AI noise cancellation

The Air SE is the first Saramonic product with noise reduction developed by the company itself. According to Saramonic, the model was trained on more than 700,000 noise samples covering 200,000 hours, and it can cut background noise by up to 40 dB while separating the voice.

Audio specifications

  • Recording format: 48 kHz / 24-bit.
  • Signal-to-noise ratio: 80 dB.
  • Maximum sound pressure level: up to 120 dB.
  • Automatic limiter that reacts to overload in real time.
  • Safety track recorded 12 dB below the main signal as a backup against clipping.
  • Mono or stereo output.

The Saramonic app adds three EQ presets for adjusting the sound from a phone. Saramonic was founded in 2012 and says it holds more than 400 patents.
