Plaud NotePin S adds a record button; Mac meeting app arrives

Plaud used the run-up to CES 2026 in Las Vegas to announce two products: a revised wearable notetaker called NotePin S and a desktop application for online meetings. The NotePin S is the company's fourth device. Plaud says it has sold more than 1.5 million devices so far, with a focus on in-person meetings.

NotePin S: what is new

The original NotePin appeared in 2024. The S version adds a physical button that starts and stops recording. Tapping the same button during a session marks a highlight, the same feature found on the Plaud Note Pro. Apple Find My support has been added for tracking down a misplaced pin.

The box includes four ways to wear it:

  • a clip;
  • a lanyard;
  • a magnetic pin;
  • a wristband.

Specifications

The core hardware is unchanged from the previous generation. The pin has 64GB of internal storage and enough battery for 20 hours of continuous recording. Two MEMS microphones pick up speech within a 9.8-foot radius. Buyers get 300 minutes of free transcription per month. Compared with the card-shaped Note Pro, the pin has a shorter pickup range and less battery life but is smaller, and Plaud pitches it at people who are constantly on the move. The price is $179.

Desktop notetaker

The second launch takes Plaud into software-only meeting notes, a field that includes Granola, Fathom and Fireflies. The Mac app works across meeting platforms, notices when a call is under way and offers to capture it. It records system audio and then uses AI to arrange the transcript into structured notes. Multimodal input, which lets users attach images and typed notes alongside the audio transcript, is also coming to the desktop app after launching in the mobile app the previous year.
