Neumann at NAMM 2026: U 47 fet honored, tube mic reissue teased

Neumann.Berlin, as Georg Neumann GmbH calls itself, outlined its plans for the NAMM Show 2026 in Anaheim in mid-January. The schedule combined a product reveal, an award for one of its best-known microphones and the first public showing of a software tool.

Hall of Fame for the U 47 fet

The U 47 fet was chosen for induction into the NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame. The induction was planned for 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Its venue was the NAMM Member Center of the Anaheim Convention Center, and every show attendee was welcome.

At the same time, the company promised an exclusive unveiling at its booth: the reissue of what it described as a very unique tube microphone. The announcement did not name the model.

What visitors could see

The main booth, number 18810 on Level 2 of ACC North, included a 9.1.4 immersive demonstration room. Neumann planned four sessions per day there with guest speakers from the industry, among them Eric Schilling, Kellogg Boynton, Herbert Waltl, and Elle Graham with Chris Nungary of Squeak E Clean LA. A separate display area showed the full Neumann signal chain of microphones, interfaces, studio monitors and headphones working as one system.

In the German Pavilion, booth 14916 on Level 1 of ACC North, the company debuted VIS, short for Virtual Immersive Studio. It is a software tool for immersive audio mixing that presents spatial audio visually and gives the engineer hands-on creative control.
