Logitech G325 Lightspeed drops the boom for an earcup mic

Logitech has announced the G325 Lightspeed Wireless, an $80 (€80) gaming headset designed to be worn outside the house as well as at a desk. Its most visible change is the absence of a boom arm: the microphone is built into the earcup instead.

A hidden beamforming microphone

The G325 uses a beamforming mic array that points its pickup towards the wearer's mouth, combined with AI-based denoising meant to keep other sounds out of the voice feed. In a pre-launch briefing call, Logitech staff wearing the headset in a quiet room sounded clear, according to a journalist who attended; that reporter had not yet tested it personally. The same writer noted that beamforming mics they had used on other headsets, such as the Bang & Olufsen Portal and Audeze Maxwell, were noticeably weaker than typical boom mics.

Specifications

  • Wireless: Logitech Lightspeed 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 5.2
  • 24-bit audio support; driver details were not disclosed
  • Weight: 212g
  • Battery: rated at more than 24 hours
  • Materials: mostly plastic, with up to 46% post-consumer recycled plastic
  • Replaceable earcups in memory foam and breathable fabric
  • Colours: lilac, black and white

The headset does not fold, but Logitech representatives described it as very flexible and hard to break. Its controls are power, LED status, a 2.4GHz/Bluetooth toggle, volume and mute, and Logitech said this button layout will be used on its future headsets as well.

The G325 was due to reach stores during the month of the announcement, February 2026, at the same $80 (€80) price across all three colours.
