Accsoon CoMo 2 intercom: lighter headsets with AI noise reduction

Accsoon presented the CoMo 2 at NAB 2026. It is the second generation of the company's full-duplex wireless intercom for film and video crews, following the original CoMo from NAB 2024 and the 2.4 GHz CoMo SE shown at IBC 2024. Effy Ding of Accsoon walked through the changes at the booth. The radio platform stays the same, while the headset design, audio processing and battery mount have been reworked.

Two layers of noise cancellation

The first CoMo already separated speech from ambient sound with dual-microphone environmental noise cancellation (ENC). On top of that system, the new model runs an extra processing stage named AI ENC, also listed as AINC. According to Ding, the AI layer keeps learning the acoustic profile of its surroundings, so its filtering adapts the longer the headset stays in one environment. The published mic specifications are tuned for speech:

  • sampling: 16 kHz / 16-bit;
  • frequency response: 150 Hz to 7 kHz;
  • signal-to-noise ratio: above 65 dB.

Hardware changes

Each headset weighs under 170 g (6 oz) with ear cushion and battery fitted. The host unit measures 182 x 170 x 78 mm. A push-button battery release replaces the earlier clutch-style mount, which owners and rental houses had found too easy to knock loose. A new 3.5 mm jack accepts the user's own single- or dual-ear headphones, and a USB-C port is reserved for firmware updates.

Batteries charge in about two hours and can be swapped in the field. Ding gave runtimes of as much as 10 hours on the host headset and 17 hours on a remote one.

Radio, groups and availability

The system stays on 1.9 GHz DECT with GFSK modulation and a 400 m (1,312 ft) line-of-sight range. Accsoon says a redesigned RF path holds a link through several obstructions, citing an internal test between the first and sixth floors of a building. One host and up to eight remotes form a group of nine, with no hub or belt pack. Bundles will run from single units up to 1+8 kits. The CoMo 2 cannot be mixed with first-generation headsets. A hub-based option for larger groups is on the roadmap without a date. Accsoon targets general availability in mid-May; pricing had not been announced.
